Behavioral Genetics: How does Genes Influence Ones Behavior Many believe that the environment such as the individuals people associate with, the extracurricular activities people are involved in, the music people listen to, including things shown on tv and video games all influence behavior. Though all of the things listed above are said to be true, and do indeed play a role in behavior. There are major things inside the body that trigger peoples behavioral responses. Those major things are called genes. This paper will include a breakdown of genetics and behavior alone, including the definitions of each to allow a better understanding of the joint term â€Å"behavioral genetics†. Some very important biological and chemical concepts about the body that will help to understand where genes come from will be introduced. As well as a brief example of how the environment and genes come together to influence what we do. The type of genes that influence behavior, along with the influence behavioral genetics has on the brain will also be discussed. Genetics What are genetics? He was a man whose very words struck fear into the hearts of his listeners. Acknowledged as one of the most powerful religious speakers of the era, he spearheaded the Great Awakening. â€Å"This was a time when the intense fervor of the first Puritans had subsided somewhat† (Heyrmen 1) due to a resurgence of religious zeal (Stein 1) in colonists through faith rather than predestination. Jonathan Edwards however sought to arouse the religious intensity of the colonists (Edwards 1) through his preaching. But how and why was Edwards so successful? What influenced him? How did he use diction and symbolism to persuade his listener, and what was the reaction to his teachings? Locke’s essay had a great impact on Edwards because it made him realize that when he gives sermons, his listeners should experience firsthand the message of God by making his audience more in tune with their spiritual selves. Overall his childhood and early years would help Edwards persuade others to listen to his message. The leaders need to develop an appropriate ethical policy in the organization and which is required to be continuously updated to reflect changes in the workplace culture of the organizational as well as managerial activities as the organization grows (Yehia, Tantawi, El Sahn, 2013). A proper administration of various kinds of ethical policies, which are implemented in the overall corporate sector of Woolworths. Moral theory is valued over consequences.
